Movie Magic

With all this cold weather, you have the perfect excuse to cuddle up with your honey and watch a romantic movie. With Valentine's Day coming up, here at the shop we've been thinking about some of our favorite romantic flicks and of course lingerie to pair with each one...

Take a tip from this Pretty Woman, Julia Roberts rocks some serious high leg panties in this unforgettable film. Simone Perele's celeste tanga cut panties are the best way to make those legs look a mile long.

We know Ms. Holly Golightly would give us her stamp of approval when it comes to silk from Mary Green because they are "simply divine darling!"

We are so excited to see more tap pants this season! They are so retro and sexy. Check out this gorgeous pair with a matching camisole from Mimi Holliday.

Susan Sarandon stole all the boys' hearts in her white little number in the classic Bull Durham. We have a feeling this sexy set from Cleo will do the same, so wear with caution!

The Lacy Bra

If you've been inside Bellefleur Lingerie Boutique, you know we like pretty bras. Correction, we LOVE pretty bras! Often ladies will write off bras of a more decorative nature due to the preconceived idea that their bra should be plain and practical. Who says?!!

Here at the shop, we have a wide range of bras that not only make you feel gorgeous but lay invisibly under your clothing. Just because the bra is lacy, doesn't mean your lace will show. Mimi Holiday, Simone Perele, Huit, and so many of our lovely vendors make lace that lays flat or even as a graphic print so you still get that seamless look!

If you have other reasons on why you don't where lacy bras, here are a few of the most commonly stated concerns we hear in the shop, and our reality check on how to boot those boring bras for good!

Reason: "They're too itchy."

Reality: Bras are often stiff when they are new. Always wash your bra before you wear it, which will allow the garment to soften up and remove any starch. FYI, often due to shipping overseas, bras are glazed in starch and 1 in 4 women have a starch allergy. This can be removed immediately by washing it. Lace does not mean scratchy, in fact lace is often very soft. So, in conclusion...wash your bra!

Reason: "I don't want the lines to show under clothing."

Reality: There are so many options with graphic prints and flat lace. Lace doesn't mean lace that shows. When you come to try on bras- bring two or three shirts that you would typically wear in your closet. Try your shirt over each bra to make sure you like the way it looks in your clothes. You can also easily add a camisole layer to most outfits, eliminating any bra line worries entirely!

Reason: "I have no one to wear them for."

Reality: Yes you do. YOU. It may seem silly, but your underwear can set the tone for the whole day. Taking the time to treat yourself to something that makes you feel pretty can make you feel more confident throughout your day. Who knows where that confidence can lead?!

Happy New Year from Bellefleur Lingerie!

LINGERIE RESOLUTIONS

1. Wear beautiful pajamas. Out of yoga pants & old tshirts! Clothes for gardening should not be the same as sleeping. Waking up in something you feel beautiful in is an excellent way to end the evening and start your morning.

2. Wear matching bra/panty sets. Even if the bottom is a hanky-panky in a matching color. When you buy a bra, buy the thong AND panty option or buy a couple of the same bottom.

3. Sexy hosiery & garter belts for everyday. Take risk and be adventurous with your lingerie, it's the best way to inspire yourself.

4. Stop putting lingerie in the dryer. Buy a separate, smaller bin to put next to your hamper for delicates. Wash them separately on delicate cycle, and/or in mesh bag, & hang to dry. General rule: nothing purchased from Bellefleur should be put in the dryer!

5. Clean out lingerie drawer. If it doesn't make you feel good, get rid of it. Clean out ill-fitting bras, thongs that cut into you on the sides and anything that doesn’t make you feel sexy or cute. Remove one, replace one is a good rule for cleaning out our drawer without breaking the bank.
