2. Make your own works of art. There is no such thing as a 'lesser art'. Children's art work is totally acceptable and even beautiful! Find an offbeat approach to decorating with candles, storing things in pretty boxes and vases, flowers and fabric throws.
3. Add a touch of humor. An element of surprise is a great way to add character and it's a great conversation piece when you throw parties!
4. Use Stylish Soap. Decant your hand wash and avoid flashy logos. Make it personal and pretty.
5. Books. Books are a great way to decorate your space! Leaving soaps around give visitors a look into who you are and what inspires you.

These are such great ideas! I also love finding wrapping paper and putting it into inexpensive frames of varying sizes to make a collage-effect. Also de-cluttering the home, taking away anything that is not both useful and beautiful, (or at least hiding what is not beautiful) makes the most difference to achieving a chic interior. I really believe that when you feel good about your space, you feel good about yourself--and that is always sexy :)
