L'histoire de la lingerie
Women have worn garments and fabric to support, hide, or accentuate their breasts as far back as 3000BC. Lingerie has a rich history including the celebration of the womanly figure of 1800s, the 1950s "sweater girls", the burn your bra activist of the Women’s Liberation Movement, and the creation of the incredibly popular Wonder Bra. Through the years we've seen lingerie nod to decades before and styles often return with a twist. Here are a few photos to remind us how much lingerie has changed over the years...

What are your bedroom interior design needs?
A. "I JUST NEED SOME ADVICE AND SOME ONE-ON-ONE GUIDANCE." I have my own vision and I want to be involved in every aspect of the project. I don’t need anyone for help with outside research but I want someone to help me shop, to bounce my ideas off of, and to help me along the way as I direct my own project. I don’t necessarily want to focus on entire rooms, but may just want to address some things here and there throughout my space. (Regular price: $85/hr. / 5 hr. min. total purchase / 2 hr. min. per visit)
Bellefleur & the Boudoir package deal: $75/hr. / 5 hr. min. total purchase / 2 hr. min. per visit PLUS 20% off one purchase at Bellefleur Lingerie Boutique
Bellefleur & the Boudoir package deal: $200 off regular price PLUS $150 worth of lingerie from Bellefleur Lingerie Boutique

Bellefleur Lingerie Book Club: PARISIAN CHIC: A Style Guide by Ines del la Pressange. Discussion Three.
We've talked about ways to turn your bedroom into a sexy boudoir! This lovely style guide has amazing tips to make the other rooms in your home Parsian chic too! Here are a few of their tips we considered note worthy!
1. Respect your home's essential charm and character. Paint ceilings moldings a funky color instead of ripping them out. Destroying period moldings is a crime in central Paris!
2. Make your own works of art. There is no such thing as a 'lesser art'. Children's art work is totally acceptable and even beautiful! Find an offbeat approach to decorating with candles, storing things in pretty boxes and vases, flowers and fabric throws.
3. Add a touch of humor. An element of surprise is a great way to add character and it's a great conversation piece when you throw parties!
4. Use Stylish Soap. Decant your hand wash and avoid flashy logos. Make it personal and pretty.
5. Books. Books are a great way to decorate your space! Leaving soaps around give visitors a look into who you are and what inspires you.
What are some of your favorite ways to make your home and boudoir unique?

Bellefleur Lingerie Book Club: PARISIAN CHIC: A Style Guide by Ines del la Pressange. Discussion Two.
Let's talk basics. Page twenty-three says that dressing like a Parisian is simple. The chic Parisian look focuses on staples that allow you to be prepared for anything and always look put together. In this chapter Ines reveals the "Magnificent Seven":
1. Blazer
2. Trench
3. Tank Top
4. Navy Sweater
5. Little Black Dress
6. Jeans
7. Leather Jacket
Here are a few of our favorite style tips on each:
1. Blazer- Push back or roll up the sleeves- the ultimate "easy chic" statement. Even better when the lining is a different color.
2. Trench- Never buckle the belt properly like a good girl. tie it in front or behind with the buckle hanging loose. This is VERY Parisian.
3. Tank Top- Keep it simple: black, gray, white, navy, and khaki.
4. Navy Sweater- Black sweaters are just too easy. Pair with flat shoes for an "easy cool" look.
5. Little Black Dress- Abstract, universal, prepared for anything.
6. Jeans- Dress them up at night with a silver sequined jacket.
7. Leather Jacket- Pair with a chiffon dress for a transforming touch.
What do you think of her list? Do you have your own list of basics or key items every woman should have in their wardrobe?
We are loving some easy this read is to pick up and turn to any chapter. She has such fabulous tips on perfume and decorating your home as well. We hope you all are enjoying it as much as we are!

Turn on the Bright Lights
We are loving all the brights this summer! Often ladies are intimidated to wear bright colors or color at all. Wearing colorful lingerie is easy and fun. If you pick the right shades, these colors can work like makeup against your skin. A good match highlights your beautiful eyes, skin, and hair. Don't be afraid of neon's if you are pale. Neon shades can turn the lightest of skin tones a few shades darker like magic. Here are a few of our favorite BRIGHTS currently in the shop-

Just crop it!
Crop tops, bralets, and bustiers are out and about this season and we are loving the trend! The secret to pulling off this sexy look is to show only 1 to 2 inches of skin and pair the top with a highwaisted skirt or short. Blazers, cardigans, and accessories are a great way to tone down the look and make it really wearable. Here are a few of our favorite ways to rock this look with a cute highwaisted short. For more tips on how to wear your your underwear out there, check out our Pinterest @ http://pinterest.com/lingeriebelle/lingerie-as-outerwear/ . Collages via weheartit.
We love this gorgeous strapless longline from Fortnight- currently in stock at Bellefleur! It's the perfect piece to create these sexy looks.
